Mr. Raghib Rauf Chowdhury was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn, UK in 2003 after completing his Bar Vocational Course from the Inn’s Court of School of Law,UK, Post Graduate Diploma in Law from City University, UK and LL.B. Hon’s from University of Wolverhampton, UK
Barrister Raghib has been in the legal field since 2003 as a full time regular practitioner before the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He has also been permitted to practice before the Appellate Division of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of Bangladesh by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Bangladesh. Mr. Raghib is a member of the Dhaka District Bar Association and Supreme Court Bar Association. He is also a Member of Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn, U.K.
Earlier Mr. Raghib did Masters in Political Science from University of Dhaka and B.A. Hon’s in Political Science from Aligarh Muslim University, India, both are highly reputed in the respective countries. Mr. Raghib is a litigator with both classroom and court room expertise as he teaches English Legal System and he has enjoyed victories on behalf of his clients at the negotiating table as lead counsel.
Recently in 2012 he visited a number of Courts as well as judicial and administrative authorities in U.S.A. under a programme organised by U.S. State Department with the object to promote Rule of Law and Judiciary.
After filling a writ petition before the High Court Division of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in 2010 seeking direction to set a guideline on the process of recruitment of the Judges of the High Court Division of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Barrister Raghib has been appreciated by all concern.
Mr. Raghib is also involved with Rotary activities and served as President of Rotary Club Dhaka North and Assistant Governor of Rotary District 3281 being a member of Rotary international. Being an Aligarian, Mr. Raghib is the Executive Member of Aligarh Old Boys Association of Bangladesh. He is also a US State Alumni and member of Dhaka University Political Science Association (DUPADA), Notre Dame Collage Alumni Association, Kushtia Zilla School Alumni Association.
